Eye Testing | How Often Should You See The Optometrist?
Preventative care
Eye testing is essential in preventing a number of ocular conditions such as glaucoma. Many of these sight threatening diseases can only be detected with the correct medical equipment. Our eye exams use the latest technology to detect ocular conditions. The Daytona Plus, for example, allows us to take images of the eye with unprecedented periphery. Up to 200 degrees of the retina is visible in a single picture as compared to 45 degrees using conventional methods.
A solution for the whole family
As a family oriented eye care center, Accent Eyes makes it a goal to provide top quality treatment to patients of all ages.
Children’s eye testing
Studies show that as much as 80% of what people learn is absorbed visually. This means that poor vision could heavily impact your child’s performance in the classroom. Therefore routine eye testing is especially important for young kids with developing minds. Eye testing should start early (as young as six months), and to support this we participate in the infantSEE program; this is a program that offers free one time eye exams to infants under one year old. We also provide vision therapy for children with developmental disorders, and can even fit your son or daughter with their first pair of glasses.
Adult vision testing
Most adults between the ages of 19 and 40 enjoy healthy vision. However, we still recommend you have an eye exam every two to three years. Good vision is important in pursuing your career and academic goals just like a healthy lifestyle. In fact, many lifestyle choices can directly affect your optical health such as :
- Eating a nutrient rich diet
- Not smoking
- Getting regular exercise
- Wearing protective eye wear like sunglasses or goggles
- Avoiding excessive eye strain
At Accent Eyes we can provide complete vision care including tests, lens fitting, frame fitting, vision therapy, treatment for a variety of ocular conditions, and more. Call us today at 602-547-3255 to schedule your next eye test!
