Dr. Gong has dramatically improved the quality of my life.
I suffer from many eye diseases and afflictions, have gone through many surgeries, completely lost my vision in my 30s, all which ultimately culminated in cornea transplants. These transplants are latch-ditch efforts by surgeons to provide a hope of improved quality-of-life. There are two parts to the recovery of any vision-based quality-of-life from this: the skill of the surgeon and the subsequent skill of the optometrist who’s is in charge of your constantly changing after-care. If any vision is recovered at all, it is spotty, prescription-changing every few months and usually low-vision, at best.
Dr. Gong has been my extraordinary after-care specialist. For over 15 years, Dr. Gong has kindly and patiently steered to the optimal prescription for my vision while I give her differing answers to the same question, “Which is better……A or B” over and over. She zeros in the optimal no matter how many times I give her mismatching answers to her same proposal of which is A/B options is better, and asks me more detailed questions about what I’m seeing in order to give me the best possible outcome. My appointments take much longer than the allotted time, and she patiently works through them anyway. Dr. Gong has been able to give me clarity of vision, even when all the specialists at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago could not. As a result, when I lived in Chicago for 8 years, I would fly to Arizona to see Dr. Gong because she could improve my vision over even those world-renowned doctors. In short, there is no better specialist in the world than Dr. Aleta Gong.
If this weren’t enough, she is always tender-hearted, patient and kind, even through very stressful situations. She adores children, and even with her vast and specialized markets of sports vision and vision therapy, she still continues to love and nurture her white-glove approach to pediatric eye-care.
I trust my health, happiness and best vision-based quality-of-life opportunities to Dr. Gong. She has been solving for my vision issues with her white-glove approach, for 15 years, and she will do the same for you. And like me, you won’t look at Dr. Gong just as a doctor, you will know that her care for you is worthy of calling her friend.
